Job Summary

Collects blood specimens, handles and processes specimens for laboratory testing, and performs related tasks including data entry, specimen storage, and quality assurance. Operates basic lab equipment and adheres to all relevant regulations to ensure safety and privacy while providing excellent patient care.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED (Required in CA; preferred in OR and HI)
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or related experience (Preferred)
• Experience in Phlebotomy (Preferred)

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician I (CPTI) license (Required in CA; preferred in OR and HI)

• Phlebotomy Tech (CPT) or CPTII (Required)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)

Essential Functions

• Collects and handles blood specimens, ensuring specimen integrity and patient safety.
• Performs computerized registration, test ordering, and specimen processing tasks.
• Maintains supplies, documentation, and manages workflow efficiently.
• Communicates results and assists with specimen storage and retrieval.
• Responds to incoming calls and clarifies test orders as needed.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
