Job summary

Emanate Health is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our Laboratory Services team. You will perform venipunctures on adults and pediatrics, collect specimens, process samples, and support laboratory operations in a busy health system.

You will also enter data, liaise with clients, and help resolve any specimen concerns to maintain accuracy and timely reporting. A California CPT and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical terminology required.
• California CPT certificate required; BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures on adults and pediatrics, and micro collections on infants.
• Handle data entry and specimen processing.
• Communicate with clients to resolve specimen concerns.
• Assist with other laboratory duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Works under the supervision of the Director of Laboratory Services/Asst. Director/and or Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Performs venipunctures on adults and pediatrics and micro collections on infants. Participates in data entry, specimen processing and communicates with clients to help resolve specimen concerns as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Education Requirement: High school diploma or equivalency preferred.
• Minimum Experience Requirement: Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical/laboratory terminology required.
• Two year acute care hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• One to two (1-2) years experience assisting in performing laboratory assays preferred.
• Ability to operate computer input terminal.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy techniques including special procedures such as blood cultures, finger and heel sticks.
• Communication skills to include fluent English.
• Typing and word processing skills required.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Minimum License Requirement: Current California CPT (Certified Phlebotomy Technician) certificate. BLS required.
• Must work every other weekend Delivering world-class health care one patient at a time.

Pay Range: $23.00 - $34.50
