Job summary

Vitruvian Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support the lab team in a hospital setting. The role involves obtaining specimens, assisting technologists, and performing waived tests and basic microbiology tasks.

The position requires High School graduation, some clinical lab experience, and strong manual dexterity, communication, and attention to detail. It supports a dynamic care environment across multiple units.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate.
• Licensure: Certification in any clinical field preferred.
• Experience: 2 years of laboratory experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Manual dexterity and good eye/hand coordination.
• Ability to communicate with other healthcare providers by telephone to obtain or give information critical to patient care.
• Visual acuity, basic mathematical skills and color discrimination ability.
• Ability to work with neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist the technologist/technician in the laboratory.
• Obtain specimens from properly identified patients.
• Load barcode samples onto instruments and perform waived kit testing.
• Inoculate microbiology media and prepare slides.
• Perform automated staining and monitor stock levels in the laboratory.
