Direct Hire Opportunity in Portland, Oregon!

100% Onsite

Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week

$20-$22/HR + DOE

No science background needed. This position primarily involves processing samples through tasks such as data entry, taking photos, creating labels, and filling out documents, without requiring scientific knowledge.

The Customer Service Representative/Lab Assistant plays an essential role by providing accurate, efficient, and timely sample receiving information and communication to clients, and proposing improvements to achieve the company’s mission and objectives.

Duties:
  1. Monitor client requests and organize the sample receiving process from initial communication to LIMS login, including obtaining confirmation or clarification of information provided by customers before accepting testing requests.
  2. Generate a unique sample ID in the login system(s) following SOPs, using Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) software and SAP, verifying accuracy against client submission forms.
  3. Communicate necessary information with lab staff to ensure a streamlined workflow that meets customer expectations.
  4. Generate quotes or verify previous quotes to provide accurate pricing based on received requests and sample submission forms.
  5. Send sample receipt emails and update clients on the login status of submitted samples, maintaining confidentiality. Collaborate with Accounting on testing pricing and PO information.
  6. Coordinate sample shipments to external third-party labs as needed.
  7. Provide customer service by answering inquiries about services, turnaround times, and receipt emails. Escalate issues to Supervisor or Sales/Marketing Manager when necessary.
  8. Maintain client files and detailed communication records, updating sample logs accordingly.
  9. Report LIMS and data tracking issues to Supervisor or Sales/Marketing Manager.
  10. Contribute to process improvements by proposing and implementing changes to enhance service quality, performance, reduce costs, or response times.
  11. Stay updated on testing services through training and participate in professional meetings.
  12. Support other customer service functions, including sample reporting, as needed.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Sales/Marketing Manager.
