Job summary

The Laboratory Animal Caretaker at Tufts University, CMS in Boston, will perform daily husbandry of laboratory animals, monitor room conditions, and maintain cleanliness and equipment under the supervision of the Animal Care Supervisors.

Responsibilities include changing animals to clean housing, providing water and food, documenting illness, assisting with cagewash, monitoring temperature and humidity, and assisting with euthanasia when trained.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write and understand instructions.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to ~50 pounds.
• Ability to work with various animals.

Responsibilities

• Daily husbandry of laboratory animals and monitoring room environment.
• Provide food, water, and nesting material; document deaths and signs of illness.
• Maintain cleanliness of facilities and equipment; assist with cagewash and other tasks.
