Summary / Role Purpose
The Labor Relations Manager (m/f/d) is responsible for building and maintaining a constructive and trusted relationship with the employee representatives in Germany. This subject matter expert is in charge of driving the execution of all Labor Relations initiatives as well as all processes as required under German collective labor law. The position reports directly to the Country Human Resources Manager, DACH and will be co-managed by the Assistant General Counsel & Director, Global Employment. In addition, the Labor Relations Manager works closely with local and global team members of Human Resources, Legal, Data Privacy Team as well as other relevant stakeholders such as business leaders.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Acting as company representative towards the works council(s) and its committee(s)
  • Responsible for the entire flow of information between the employer and the works council(s)
  • Conducting consultations and negotiations with the works council(s) as well as preparation and follow-up of the meetings with the respected stakeholders
  • Drafting collective company agreements and guidelines or coordination of completion with the relevant stakeholders and departments
  • Negotiating collective company agreements independently or jointly with other stakeholders depending on complexity
  • Close collaboration with the in-house Legal- and HR-Team and internal and external consultants
  • Building and providing training on collective labor matters and newly emerging topics with regard to possible co-determination

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • HR or Law degree or relevant professional experience in a comparable field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the IT-industry in the field of Labor Relations in a comparable position and proven track record of success
  • Profound experience in working with works council(s) and its committee(s)
  • Affinity to IT tools and systems
  • Working experience gained in a fast paced and multi-national environment is a must
  • Team player, familiar with working in a matrix-organization
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • High level of professionalism and discretion
  • Structured and results oriented way of working
  • Open minded, flexible, solution oriented, creative (thinking outside the box)
  • Fluent in German and English (verbal and written)
  • Willingness to travel occasionally

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Comfort with high-volume work and navigating in ambiguity
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to function independently and as part of a team while managing multiple projects
