Morgan Hunter is partnering with a large, nationally recognized organization to hire a Labor Relations Director. This highly visible leadership role will own labor relations strategy across a large, multi-location workforce and serve as a key resource to executive leadership, operations, HR, and legal teams.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the go-to leader for union and labor relations across the organization’s national footprint
- Take the lead on union negotiations and contract discussions, helping the business navigate agreements effectively
- Work through grievances, arbitrations and other labor challenges, partnering with the right internal resources to reach resolution
- Develop strong, proactive relationships with union leaders, field leadership and key business partners
- Act as a trusted advisor to executives on labor trends, potential risks, compliance and overall strategy
- Collaborate closely with Legal, HR, Payroll and Operations to make sure labor agreements are understood and consistently applied
- Help establish the labor approach and build relationships as the company enters and grows in new markets
- Coach and educate leaders so they are better equipped to handle union-related situations and employee issues
- Maintain a visible presence in the field by visiting projects, attending industry and union meetings, and participating in negotiations across the country
Qualifications
- 10+ years of labor relations experience
- Construction Experience
- Recent experience supporting union environments strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of labor laws, grievances, arbitration, and contract compliance
- Proven ability to build relationships with union representatives and senior business leaders
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills
- Executive presence with the ability to influence across multiple levels of an organization
- Experience supporting multiple markets, territories, or collective bargaining agreements preferredBachelor’s degree preferred;advanced degree or JD is a plus
- Ability to travel nationwide as business needs require
