Morgan Hunter is partnering with a large organization to hire a Labor Relations Director. This highly visible leadership role owns labor relations strategy across a large, multi-location workforce and serves as a key resource to executive leadership, operations, HR, and legal teams.

The role requires 10+ years in labor relations, construction experience, and strong negotiation and communication skills to guide union discussions and ensure contract compliance nationwide.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of labor relations experience.
  • Construction Experience
  • Recent experience supporting union environments strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, grievances, arbitration, and contract compliance
  • Proven ability to build relationships with union representatives and senior business leaders
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and communication skills
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence across multiple levels of an organization
  • Experience supporting multiple markets, territories, or collective bargaining agreements preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degree or JD is a plus
  • Ability to travel nationwide as business needs require

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the go-to leader for union and labor relations across the organization’s national footprint
  • Take the lead on union negotiations and contract discussions, helping the business navigate agreements effectively
  • Work through grievances, arbitrations and other labor challenges, partnering with the right internal resources to reach resolution
  • Develop strong, proactive relationships with union leaders, field leadership and key business partners
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executives on labor trends, potential risks, compliance and overall strategy
  • Collaborate closely with Legal, HR, Payroll and Operations to make sure labor agreements are understood and consistently applied
  • Help establish the labor approach and build relationships as the company enters and grows in new markets
  • Coach and educate leaders so they are better equipped to handle union-related situations and employee issues
  • Maintain a visible presence in the field by visiting projects, attending industry and union meetings, and participating in negotiations across the country
