Job summary

You will join a boutique state department with the ability to independently represent CalHR in civil litigation, often before state and federal courts and appellate bodies.

Qualifications

• Requires CA State Bar License; must provide license copy prior to hire.
• Experience in labor and employment law and litigation.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Litigate administrative hearings, writs, motions, and appeals in civil court.
• Handle diverse labor and employment duties, including investigations and in-house counsel on personnel matters.
• Provide legal opinions for high-level executives on sensitive issues and projects.
