  • Be a Safety Leader! Ensure the resources and commitment to HSE is of top priority for all employees within the company.
  • Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
    • Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.
    • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
    • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
    • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
    • Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
    • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
    • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
    • Promote and participate in Safety Programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of coal-handling operations, coal-yard maintenance, industrial housekeeping, and material-handling practices
  • Knowledge of coal-handling equipment, including conveyors, crushers, feeders, hoppers, screens, transfer points, and coal-yard equipment.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices around conveyors, rotating equipment, mobile equipment, heavy machinery, and electrical systems.
  • Strong crew leadership and supervision skills
  • Ability to assign and coordinate daily work for laborers
  • Ability to lead and supervise a labor crew safely and efficiently
  • Ability to monitor crew productivity and adjust work assignments as conditions change
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 1–2 years of lead or supervisory experience directing laborer work crews.
  • Experience working around conveyors, crushers, feeders, hoppers, transfer points, and mobile equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a coal‑fired power plant, utility, coal yard, or industrial facility is strongly preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on‑site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee’s ability to perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
