Job summary

CCI Industrial Services LLC seeks an experienced crane operator to perform heavy lifting and rigging on on-site construction projects. The role emphasizes safety leadership, adherence to HSE standards, and strict compliance with permits and ASH standards.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of crane operating experience, NCCCO certification, and a valid driver's license. The position may involve outages support and complex lifts in industrial environments.

  • Support outages, maintenance activities and equipment installs when required.

  • Be a Safety Leader! Ensure the resources and commitment to HSE is of top priority for all employees within the company.
  • Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:
    • Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.
    • Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.
    • Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.
    • Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.
    • Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.
    • Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.
    • Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.
    • Promote and participate in Safety Programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of crane operation, lifting procedures, and material-handling practices.
  • Knowledge of rigging, signaling, slings, shackles, hooks, spreader bars, and lifting accessories.
  • Knowledge of proper procedures for working around power lines, structures, personnel, equipment, and other hazards.
  • Ability to accurately interpret load charts and determine safe lifting capacity.
  • Ability to maintain control of suspended loads during lifting, movement, and placement.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • NCCCO Certified

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of crane operating experience, preferably in a power plant, utility, refinery, manufacturing, construction, or other heavy industrial environment
  • Experience performing critical and complex lifts
  • Experience supporting plant outages, maintenance activities and equipment installations

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee’s ability to perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
