Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Partner for its Los Angeles office. This role offers the chance to join a sophisticated national platform and lead the California practice, with equity and non-equity partner tracks available.

Candidates will manage cases, advise employers, and develop client relationships while collaborating across offices. The position features a hybrid schedule (3 days in office) and a 1,750 billable-hour requirement, with an emphasis on business development.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active California Bar admission.
• 8+ years of litigation experience in employment law.
• Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters independently.
• Significant experience practicing Labor & Employment law, ideally with a strong employer-side practice.
• Substantial experience advising employers and/or handling employment litigation and disputes.
• Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and regulations.
• Established client relationships and a demonstrated ability to develop business.

Responsibilities

• Manage cases through all stages of litigation, including strategy, discovery, motion practice, settlement, and trial.
• Advise and communicate with clients regarding case strategy, developments, and potential outcomes.
• Represent clients in court hearings, trials, arbitrations, and settlement proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
• Evaluate legal issues and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Work collaboratively with paralegals and attorneys to prepare cases for trial.
