Job summary

United Future in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join our hybrid office. The role focuses on wage-and-hour, PAGA, and class action matters for a diverse client base, with opportunities for client interaction and leadership in sophisticated employment matters.

You will advise on compliance with federal, state, and local laws, draft motions and briefs, and participate in discovery and negotiations.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing.
• 4-7 years of substantive labor and employment law experience.
• Significant experience handling wage and hour, PAGA, and class action matters in state and federal courts.
• Strong background advising employers on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Arbitration, mediation, or trial experience is required.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating effectively within team-based environments.
• Comfortable with and open to using AI-driven and emerging technologies to boost efficiency and client service.
• Prior large or sophisticated law firm experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in wage and hour, PAGA, and class action litigation matters.
• Handle a wide range of labor and employment litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Advise clients on compliance with evolving California and federal employment laws.
• Draft motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation filings.
• Participate in discovery, including depositions, document review, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, pleadings, and settlement documentation.
• Represent clients in disputes involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategic, practical solutions tailored to client needs.
