Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP is a leading international law firm seeking a midlevel associate with 2–5 years of employment law experience to join its Employment practice group in the San Francisco or Los Angeles office.

The candidate should have strong academic credentials, excellent legal writing, and experience in employment litigation including court appearances and depositions. Federal clerkship and wage/hour or class action exposure are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Strong academic credentials.

• Familiar with AmLaw 100 firms preferred.
• Federal clerkship experience is a plus.
• Experience with wage and hour matters and class actions.

Responsibilities

• Advise and counsel clients on employment law compliance, including policies, handbooks, leaves, accommodations, performance and discipline, hiring and terminations.
• Assist with labor due diligence on M&A deals, as needed.
• Draft and file motions, arbitration agreements, and related employment documents.
• Participate in discovery, briefs, and dispositive briefing as required.
• Build a practice and collaborate creatively with clients to solutions.

• Candidates must have strong academic credentials, excellent legal writing skills, and experience in employment litigation, including court appearances and depositions preferably with an AmLaw 100 law firm. Ideal candidates will have federal clerkship experience and experience in single-plaintiff and class action lawsuits, handling wage and hour matters, and client counseling.
• Experience in drafting the following preferred:
• Summary judgment motions and other dispositive briefing
• motions to compel arbitration
• discovery requests and responses
• oppositions to motions for class certification (including declaration gathering drives)
• long-form settlement agreements in wage and hour class/collective actions
• separation agreements, offer letters, arbitration agreements, and PIIAs
• Experience advising and counseling clients on employment law compliance including, policies, handbooks, leaves and accommodations, employee performance and discipline, hiring and terminations is also preferred.
• Experience with conducting labor due diligence on M&A deals is highly preferred.

Ashurst Perkins Coie LLP is seeking a midlevel associate with two to five years of employment law experience to join its Employment practice group in the San Francisco or Los Angeles office. We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated passion for building a practice and a desire to work creatively with clients to find solutions.

Compensation range: $235,000 to $365,000 annually. Compensation depends on qualifications and experience.
