Job summary

Chambliss, Bahner, Stophel, P.C is seeking an attorney with a focus on employment law to join our Washington, DC office. You will provide advice on state and federal employment issues and review related documents, while supporting clients across HR, DEI, compliance, and recruitment functions.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of employment law experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience as an attorney working in employment law.
• Experience with client/employer advice and counseling is a plus.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication to advocate for clients.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines under time pressure.
• Able to manage time and resources independently and balance priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide employment law advice on matters under state and federal law and prepare or review employment-related documents.
• Support clients in HR, DEI, Recruiting, Talent, HR Compliance, and a broad range of employment concerns.
• Execute all phases of litigation including discovery, motion practice, and trial.
• Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement relating to employment areas and provide strategic advice to clients.
• Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff members.
• Effectively organize and monitor client files.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide employment law advice on matters arising under state and federal law, and preparation or review of employment-related documents.
• Support clients in Human Resources, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Recruiting, Talent, HR Compliance, and a broad range of employment concerns.
• Execute all phases of litigation including discovery, motion practice, and trial.
• Monitor legislation, regulations, case law, and government enforcement relating to the above substantive legal areas and provide proactive, strategic advice to clients.
• Coordinate with other team members, including attorneys, paralegals, and staff members.
• Effectively organize and monitor client files.
