Job summary

California Job Shop is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate in Los Angeles on a hybrid schedule (in-office 3 days/week). The firm offers competitive compensation and a broad benefits program in a high-profile work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience defending single-plaintiff matters including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour, and reasonable accommodation.
• Experience with PAGA matters and class actions.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day case responsibilities with moderate independence and collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Draft and respond to initial pleadings and discovery; draft and argue dispositive and discovery motions.
• Conduct and defend depositions, including plaintiff and corporate witness depositions.

Overview: An AM 100 firm with 1,000 Attorneys coast to coast is actively seeking an attorney to join its L&E Practice in Los Angeles.

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate must have a Juris Doctorate (JD) and will be licensed to practice law in the State of California and 5-7years of relevant L&E experience
• Experience in defending against single plaintiff litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and reasonable accommodation.
• Experience with PAGA matters.
• Experience with class actions.
• Ability to handle day-to-day case responsibilities with moderate independence and in collaboration with senior attorneys.
• Strong research, writing skills, and academic record.
• Experience drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery.
• Experience drafting and arguing motions including dispositive and discovery motions.
• Experience conducting and defending depositions, including plaintiff depositions and corporate witness depositions.
• Experience providing employment counseling on federal and state employment laws and regulations is preferred but not required.
