Job summary

University of Michigan-Dearborn is seeking a Strategic Initiatives Coordinator to advance CLCS programs and partnerships. You will work with workers, students, faculty, and community partners to develop educational initiatives and manage outreach, internships, and leadership development.

Reporting to the Director, you will help expand university-labor connections, strengthen conference operations, and contribute to grant and funding strategies while supporting ongoing program improvement and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience plus a minimum of 2-3 years of related experience.
• Demonstrated experience with the Center for Labor and Community Studies and familiarity with its programs and priorities.
• Experience navigating University systems and collaborating across departments.
• Strong relationship-building and outreach with workers, students, community members, and partners.
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with workers, unions, local unions, labor councils, statewide labor organizations, and other labor movement partners.
• Coordinate implementation and development of Faculty Affiliates program, including recruitment and engagement.
• Support development of new educational programs and partnerships related to the future of work and worker leadership.
• Assist with grant development, fundraising, and sponsorship activities; document outcomes and impact.
• Coordinate conferences, institutes, trainings, and other CLCS events; ensure smooth operations and follow-up.
