Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for women and newborns through labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. You will monitor maternal and fetal conditions and collaborate with physicians and the care team.

The role emphasizes rapid assessment, clear communication, and emergency response to ensure safe deliveries and excellent family education during the postpartum transition.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current and active RN license as required by the state.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS and NRP certification preferred/required based on facility needs.
• Previous Labor & Delivery experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and emergency-response skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal conditions throughout labor and delivery.
• Provide nursing care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum recovery.
• Monitor fetal heart rate and recognize changes requiring intervention.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
• Assist physicians and the healthcare team during deliveries and procedures.
• Educate patients and families on labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn needs.
