Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care in labor, delivery, and the postpartum period at our Vermont facility.

You will monitor maternal and fetal well-being, support safe deliveries, administer medications, educate families, and collaborate with physicians and midwives.

The role emphasizes strong clinical assessment, effective communication, and meticulous documentation to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current and active RN license in the applicable state.
• Previous Labor & Delivery and postpartum nursing experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NRP preferred or as applicable.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, critical-thinking, and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maternal and fetal assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Monitor fetal heart rate, contractions, and labor progression.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.
• Monitor postpartum recovery, including bleeding, pain, and vital signs.
• Recognize and respond to maternal or fetal complications and emergencies.
• Provide newborn care and support breastfeeding and bonding.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, medications, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
