Job summary

Antelope Valley Medical Center in Lancaster, CA is seeking an L&D RN to provide comprehensive nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, building on the AVH RN foundation and aligning with unit policies. The role emphasizes accurate fetal monitoring, newborn care at delivery, education for patients and families, and coordination of admission and discharge from L&D.

Two years of L&D experience and CA RN licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing and CA RN licensure.
• Two years’ acute care L&D experience preferred.
• Breastfeeding lactation training within 6 months of hire is required.
• Current BCLS; ACLS/PALS and NRP certifications as specified.

Responsibilities

• Meets all the essential duties of the Registered Nurse (RN).
• Provides accurate interpretation and documentation of fetal monitor tracing.
• Newborn care to the infant at delivery.
• Preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative obstetrical care.
• Education to patient/family regarding labor and delivery; age-specific education.
