Job summary

Methodist Celina Medical Center, part of Methodist Health System, is seeking a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery to provide high level nursing care using the nursing process for our patients.

The role requires at least 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience, BLS/ACLS current, and Texas RN license; BSN preferred. The Celina campus features 51 beds and a scope of services including cardiology, women's services, orthopedics, robotic surgery, and more.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• BSN strongly preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred; required within 2 weeks.
• Current Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN) preferred; required within 6 months.
• Current license to practice professional nursing in Texas.
• Labor & Delivery RN experience: 1+ year.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment using communication, interpersonal relationships and team building.
• Assumes responsibility for the nursing components of the patient/family/educational process.
• Communicates with team, patients and families and ensures understanding of information.
• Creates and maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, staff and facility.
• Ensures complete, accurate, and timely written communication of patient information.
• Administers medications and IV therapies safely and timely.
• Demonstrates personal responsibility for performance and professional growth.
• Utilizes the nursing process to ensure quality patient care throughout the episode of care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
