Job summary

SEARHC in Alaska seeks a Registered Nurse to provide labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care, including fetal monitoring and newborn care. On-call may be required. Eligible candidates must hold an Alaska RN license and current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or other US state.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are required.
• Clinical competency within 3 months and every 3 years.
• High Risk Competency required within 3 months and every year.
• New Nursing Program Graduates: BLS required at time of hire.
• Experienced Nurses - new specialty: obtain specialty certifications within six months of hire.
• Nurses floating to other departments must complete required certifications for highest level specialty.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care.
• Implements and evaluates nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Administers medications and treatments safely and according to orders.
• Recognizes changes in patient condition and escalates as needed.
• Provides patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs.
• Delivers culturally responsive, patient-centered care.
• Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR.
• Floats to other departments or assignments as needed.
