Job summary

White Oak Medical Center seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Labor & Delivery unit within Adventist HealthCare to deliver high-quality patient care and education. The role emphasizes professional standards, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with senior staff.

The position is full-time with a 36-hour work week across three 12-hour day shifts, including every-other weekend rotation. Competitive pay range and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX exam required.
• Active Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care while supporting ongoing learning from senior nurses and the Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards of practice while upholding Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment and technology correctly and delegate non-nursing duties to maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care tailored to the patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective actions.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspectives.
• Conduct literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for care improvement and participate in evidence-based change.
