Job summary

Woodland Heights Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) PRN for the Labor and Delivery department in East Texas. The role delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and the care team, following established protocols.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care, strong assessment and patient education skills, and a compassionate approach to families during labor and postpartum periods.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting required.
• Strong knowledge of nursing processes and patient care planning.
• Ability to educate patients and families about care plans and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers patient-centered care in accordance with nursing process and policies.
• Performs thorough patient assessments and documents findings accurately.
• Administers prescribed medications and monitors for side effects.
• Assists physicians during procedures within competency.
• Collaborates with the care team to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans.
• Responds to medical emergencies and participates in life-saving interventions as appropriate.
• Educates patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
• Maintains infection control protocols and patient safety standards.
• Documents care and education thoroughly in the medical record.
