Job summary
Holy Cross Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse in Labor and Delivery to join a high-performing Women’s and Children’s nursing team at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. You will deliver expert, compassionate care in a collaborative environment supported by advanced resources, including a Level III NICU.
Responsibilities include labor and delivery care, fetal monitoring, and assisting in OB/GYN procedures.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
- ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
- Current Maryland RN license or compact state equivalent.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association); additional life support certifications as required by unit.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum.
- Monitor fetal heart tones, administer medications, and coach patients through labor.
- Anticipate and respond to complications using clinical protocols.
- Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures.
- Document care and patient progress using EPIC.
- Collaborate with 24-hour Patient Safety Nurses, NICU teams, and physicians during high-risk deliveries and obstetric emergencies.
