Job summary

Holy Cross Health’s Labor and Delivery unit in Silver Spring, MD seeks a Clinical Nurse with 1–2 years of Labor and Delivery experience. You will provide patient‑centered care through labor, delivery, and postpartum, collaborating with NICU teams and physicians in a high‑risk OB environment.

The role offers a dynamic, autonomous unit with advanced resources, including a Level III NICU, and a commitment to growth within a mission‑driven, Catholic health system.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
• ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
• Current Maryland RN license or compact state equivalent.
• BLS certification; life support certifications as required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum.
• Monitor fetal heart tones, administer medications, and coach patients through labor.
• Anticipate and respond to complications using clinical protocols.
• Assist and circulate in the operating room for cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures.
• Document care and patient progress using EPIC.
• Collaborate with 24-hour Patient Safety Nurses, NICU teams, and physicians during high-risk deliveries and obstetric emergencies.
