Job summary

Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, part of Covenant Health, is seeking an Registered Nurse for the Family Birthing Center. The role involves direct nursing care for labor and delivery patients, typically three 12-hour shifts per week, with every other weekend, and full-time benefits.

You will assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and ensure care aligns with medical plans and standards while maintaining infection control and safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of the nursing process and hospital operations.
• Understanding etiologies, pathophysiology, and prognosis for illnesses.
• Experience in Labor and delivery or Mother Baby preferred.
• Current CPR/ACLS/NALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess and identify the patient’s physiological and psycho-social problems and needs.
• Develop an individualized plan of nursing care with measurable outcomes.
• Ensure nursing care plan aligns with medical plan and current standards.
• Assign tasks to team members using patient acuity data.
• Adhere to hospital/department policies and infection control practices.
• Mentor/orient new personnel and assist clinical instructors.
• Document review/revision of each patient’s plan of care at least every 24 hours.
• Non-essential functions: other duties as assigned.
