Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
• Provides direct nursing care under the supervision of a higher level nurse or licensed health care provider.
• Supervises nursing care activities and provides training to Graduate Nurses and direct care staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepares or assists with the preparation of nursing care plans aligned with treatment plans and medical needs.
• Carries out treatment procedures, administers medications, and monitors patients.
• Records notes and maintains medical records and nursing plans, including medications and vital signs.
• Participates in development and revision of individual care plans as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Modifies nursing care plans based on patient condition and response to treatment.
• Triages patients by illness/injury/st symptoms and records findings.
• Assesses findings and refers to a physician in emergencies or assists physicians as directed.
• Provides education and counseling to patients and families about health, medications, procedures, and goals.
• Practices infection control and relevant policies.
• May train paraprofessional staff in nursing techniques and equipment use.
