Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a part-time Labor & Delivery/Postpartum registered nurse for the union West Maternity unit. The role features 7a-7p shifts, three 12-hour shifts over six weeks, with weekend and holiday coverage as required.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of clinical nursing experience, a NC RN license (BSN preferred), and current BLS certification. The unit focuses on low-risk deliveries without NICU support, emphasizing safety and evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in NC.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience; Labor & Delivery preferred.
• Current BLS certification required; Additional certifications may be required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Engage in nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, and collaborate with the care team.
• Maintain accurate EHR documentation and ensure patient safety.
• May float to other units within the service area as needed.
