Job summary

Overlake Medical Center’s Labor & Delivery unit is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator to perform clerical, coordinating and communication duties to support unit operations. The role involves supporting a 6-bed medical screening observation room, 12 private labor, delivery and recovery suites, three ORs and NICU access.

The position offers a night shift on 12-hour shifts (1815 - 0645) with 9 FTE over two weeks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience as a Health Unit Coordinator or in a related field preferred.
• Exceptional customer services skills and strong desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• Effective organization and interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with computers required.
• EPIC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clerical, coordinating and communication support to the Labor & Delivery unit.
• Assist with unit operations and patient flow coordination.
• Maintain familiarity with medical terminology and computer systems.
