Job Summary

Ekspert Counsel has an opening in the Los Angeles office of an AmLaw100 firm for a Counsel in their Labor & Employment Department. The ideal candidate will have 9 to 12 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Experience in defending against single plaintiff litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, reasonable accommodation.
• Experience with PAGA matters.
• Experience with class actions.
• Ability to work cases from start to finish, independently.
• Strong research, writing skills, and academic record.
• Experience drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery.
• Experience drafting and arguing motions including dispositive and discovery motions.
• Experience taking and defending deposition including taking plaintiffs deposition and defending deposition of corporate witnesses.
• Experience in employment counseling on federal and state employment laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• 9-12 years of experience as an Attorney in Labor & Employment.
• Juris Doctorate is required.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California.
