Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) - Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess the health status of mothers and infants throughout the labor and delivery process.


• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide appropriate interventions as needed.


• Assist physicians and midwives with labor and delivery procedures, including natural births and cesarean sections.


• Educate expectant mothers and families on labor processes, pain management options, and postpartum care.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.


• Minimum of one year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) preferred.


• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.


• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred or willingness to obtain.


• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.


• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
