Job summary

Dignity Health - Methodist Hospital in Sacramento seeks a Registered Nurse in the Family Birth Center to provide holistic, safe, confidential care from admission to discharge.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate perinatal care, document accurately, collaborate with the care team, and offer leadership while maintaining patient safety and a compassionate, family‑centered approach.

A $15,000 sign‑on bonus is available for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• ADN required.
• One year labor and delivery experience as an RN in an acute care setting.
• Active RN license in California.
• BLS certification – American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire – American Heart Association.
• NRP certification required within 3 months of hire – American Heart Association.
• Basic fetal monitoring certification acceptable at hire, but must complete the Intermediate fetal monitoring course within 6 months of hire.
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course every two years thereafter, or obtain NCC Fetal Monitoring Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: Perform total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.
• Care of Patient: Planning, implementing, evaluating and educating.
• Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilize technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit.
• Documentation: Legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation; proficient with the documentation system.
• Leadership: Accept responsibility and accountability for own decisions; cooperate with direction from facility leadership.
• Precepting/Mentoring: Orient new staff and mentor students; serve as resource to staff from other nursing departments.

Education

Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN)

RN license – California

BLS certification – American Heart Association

ACLS certification – American Heart Association

NRP certification – American Heart Association

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• One year of labor and delivery experience as an RN required in an acute care setting.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 3 months of hire – American Heart Association.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 3 months of hire – American Heart Association.
• Basic fetal monitoring certification acceptable at hire, but must complete the Intermediate fetal monitoring course within 6 months of hire.
• AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring course every two years thereafter, or obtain NCC Fetal Monitoring Certification and maintain as specified.

Preferred Qualifications

• One year Labor and delivery C/Section/PACU, OBED, Postpartum/Newborn Nursery Unit experience.

Pay Range

$72.64 - $88.21 /hour
