Job summary

AdventHealth Celebration, FL seeks an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery on a StaffFlex contract for night shifts. The role offers flexible assignments within AdventHealth facilities, 36 hours per week, with a pay rate of $60/hour.

Eligible candidates will have 2+ years in labor and delivery, RN licensure, BLS, and EFM, with TNCC preferred. Benefits from day one and opportunities to convert to permanent staff are available.

Qualifications

• Associate's of Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's of Nursing is preferred.
• 2+ years of labor and delivery nursing in an acute hospital setting is required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification is required.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) is required.
• Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide education to patients and families from admission to discharge, including care plans, meds, tests and discharge instructions.
• Document education provided and patient responses/outcomes; refer to providers as needed.
• Deliver competent, compassionate nursing care to patients in pain and maintain a safe environment.
• Administer medications accurately as ordered and respond to unit/hospital codes.
• Provide safe nursing care for patients requiring oxygen support.
• Assist physicians with bedside procedures as needed.
• Manage patient admissions, transfers and discharges professionally.
• Verify and sign off physician orders and obtain lab specimens as ordered.
• Evaluate the nursing care plan to ensure safe, quality care delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Details:

• Provides necessary education to patients and families from admission to discharge, covering medical and nursing care plans, medications, tests, procedures, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
• Documents education provided, including patient responses and outcomes. Initiates referrals to healthcare providers as needed.
• Delivers competent, compassionate care to patients in pain according to policy and maintains a safe care environment.
• Administers medications accurately as ordered. Responds to unit and hospital code situations.
• Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients requiring oxygen support.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes. [Required]
• Basic computer skills – must be able to navigate Microsoft windows based programs. [Required]
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills) [Required]
