Job Description
The Labor and Delivery Manager – RN (Night Shift) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of night operations across the Labor & Delivery, OB-ED , Antepartum , and OB-OR units. This leader will support high-volume, fast-paced clinical environments, ensuring patient safety, staff performance, and regulatory compliance while advancing strategic initiatives and care excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise night-shift operations across multiple OB service lines
Ensure delivery of safe, patient-centered, high-quality care
Monitor and support staffing, patient throughput, and workflow efficiency
Implement and sustain improvement projects and patient experience initiatives
Oversee staff training, development, and mentorship
Ensure regulatory and hospital policy compliance
Promote strong interdisciplinary collaboration
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Licensure: Active RN license (Texas or compact state)
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Master’s degree (MSN) preferred
Experience:
3–5 years of recent acute care nursing experience
Minimum 1 year in a leadership/supervisory role in Labor & Delivery
Must have experience in high-volume birth settings (700+ births/month)
Certifications:
Must obtain relevant specialty certification within 6 months of hire
Additional Information
Facility averages 850+ deliveries per month
Role covers: L &D, OB-ED, Antepartum, OB-OR
Night Shift only (no weekends)
