Job summary

The Neil Jones Food Company in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Labeling Mechanic to install, set up, inspect, troubleshoot and maintain labeling-line machinery in a cannery and food processing facility. Equipment includes can labelers, conveyors, date-marking devices, case packers, palletizers, motors and gearboxes.

Applicants should have an associate degree or equivalent training, plus 2 years of related maintenance experience; food processing background is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree, apprenticeship, technical-school certification, or equivalent training in industrial maintenance or related field preferred.
• Minimum of two years of related industrial-maintenance or mechanical experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial facility required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in can labeling, conveyors, packaging-line equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, installs, sets up, adjusts, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains labeling machinery and related equipment.
• Observes machinery and listens for unusual sounds to identify malfunctions.
• Responds promptly to labeling-line breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control problems.
• Dismantles machinery to access and remove defective components.
