Job summary

Chicago Botanic Garden is seeking a Labeling Coordinator in Glencoe, IL. The role supports the Living Plant Documentation department, ensuring accurate label delivery and nomenclature across the collections.

It interfaces with Horticulture, Development, Communications, Science, Education, and senior management. The ideal candidate will have an associate degree in horticulture or related field, plus at least one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Horticulture or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum of one year in horticulture or plant documentation.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; collaborate across departments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; able to learn BRAHMS and labeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain display labels and accession tags throughout the Garden areas.
• Verify and update nomenclature records in BRAHMS; adjust labels accordingly.
• Update plant records in BRAHMS to meet label requirements.
• Assist with inventories and labeling projects across departments.
• Collaborate on labeling techniques for special projects or events.
• Train staff, interns, and volunteers in labeling processes.
