Job summary

The University at Buffalo Laboratories Animal Facilities seeks a NYS licensed veterinary technician to join our team. Prior lab animal experience is not required; clinical skills from private practice translate well.

We will teach you to work with many species, large and small, across UB’s three campuses. You will work in a physically demanding but varied role, with Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts and shared weekend/holiday hours.

Qualifications

• Licensed NYS veterinary technician required.
• Willingness to travel between UB campuses for the role.
• Comfort working with a variety of animal species and types.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for multiple species, including daily treatments.
• Assist veterinarians with exams and diagnostic testing.
• Maintain medical records and documentation.
• Educate students in hands-on classes on handling, injections, and anesthesia.
• Correspond with researchers via email.
• Support researchers with scheduled projects.
