Job summary

Provides individual tutoring and organized study group sessions. Collaborates with supervisors in the review and development of lab resources and programming.Acceptable education required in one of the following related areas: English, Secondary Education or greater, Communication, Journalism, TESOL, Reading, Developmental Education, Language Arts, Business, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or a similar applicable field of study.Acceptable related experience to include, but not limited to, teaching, tutoring, training or adult education, developmental education, or curriculum development.What a day of a Lab Tutor, Communication looks like:Conducts tutoring sessions with individual or multiple students in person and virtual environment.Provides constructive feedback and suggestions on student assignments.Reviews lab materials and evaluates usefulness of lab resources on a periodic basis to ensure accuracy of information.Acts as liaison with departments within area of discipline. Encourages use of lab by students through communication with faculty and development and delivery of lab orientation programs.Assists with initiatives aimed at improving student retention and completion.Participates as active member within the assigned clusters.Creates an engaging learning environment and enhances student confidence and interest in learning.Maintains an awareness of current College and department policies and guidelines.Maintains and enhances current knowledge of field or profession.
