Clemson University in Anderson, SC is seeking a Lab Technologist III to coordinate and supervise the CETL shop activities, supporting research and teaching in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences.
You will consult with faculty and graduate students on equipment design, construct complex electromechanical lab gear, and train staff on CETL equipment, including milling machines, lathes, band saws, welding, and related tools while maintaining records and preparing gas

Under limited supervision coordinates and supervises the work activities of lower level machinists and other skilled workers, primarily within the CETL shop which supports research and teaching endeavors in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences.

A bachelor's degree in a health-related field and journey-level work experience in the specialty area; or an associate degree or equivalent training in a health-related or technology field and advanced work experience in the specialty area. A master's degree in a health-related field and entry-level experience in the specialty area may be substituted for the requirements stated above. Previous technical supervisory work experience is required for supervisory positions.
Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations.
Not responsible for supervising employees.
No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.
Standard Hours: 37.5
Expected Salary Range
$44,653.00 - $57,000.00
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
Emergency Response - In the event of an emergency closure or modified operations, this position is required to respond in order to provide the University's initial response to the emergency situation, including the execution of mission essential functions. Some positions in this category may be required to work remotely or be on call.
