The primary function of this position will be to collectsamples for analysis using gas cabinets and fume hoods. In addition, simple wetchemistry tests will also be required. Additionally, the successfulcandidate may need to assist with sample analysis of other products asnecessary. Operate and maintain sophisticated gas equipment and analyticalinstrumentation - Design, develop, and carry out new analyticalprocesses.
Some of the chemicals involved are hazardous in nature. The positioninvolves collecting samples from gas cylinders and preparing them for analysisand then analyzing the samples using various techniques. Basic computersoftware skills such as Microsoft Office platforms including Outlook email isnecessary. Prior experience in a chemistry lab setting is a plus for thisposition. This position will report to the lab manager or supervisor.
