Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks appropriate to patient age.
• Accepts specimens and requisitions from internal and external customers.
• Identifies patients and specimens using two identifiers and labels containers.
• Registers and logs specimens in LIS and documents required information.
• Performs specimen processing and documentation per laboratory protocols.
• Assist in resolving problematic specimens and test orders with staff and clients.
• Follow safety, infection control, and chemical-handling procedures.
• Operate LIS and support accurate data entry and workflow management.
• Restock supplies and engage in departmental or hospital initiatives as assigned.
