Job summary

Toray CMA in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Laboratory Associate to perform assignments including equipment maintenance, calibration, and testing across multiple areas of the lab. The role involves following written procedures, manuals, and instructions to ensure accurate results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate of Arts degree in a lab science or closely related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two plus years’ experience in a laboratory or carbon composite manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Must be able to read and understand laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment and laboratory procedures; check fluids, heat ovens, etc.
• Calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including documentation.
• Perform sample/test preparations including labeling and verifying test materials, dissolution and filtering, and instrument set-ups.
• Enter data into computer programs; review output for accuracy; verify and document test results.
• Attend and participate in meetings; collaborate with team to improve processes.
