Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana in Indianapolis is seeking a Lab Technician IV to support the Biotech and Smart Manufacturing lab. You will assist students and faculty, maintain equipment, and run experiments in a dynamic, safety-conscious environment.

• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety standards are met.
• Assist in the development and optimization of experimental protocols and procedures.
• Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling and disposal.
• Hands‑on testing will be conducted in electronics, PLCs, and robotics.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled lab technician for our lab in Biotech and Smart Manufacturing. The lab technician will play a key role in supporting various projects by providing technical assistance, performing experiments, and maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist students and faculty in laboratory and projects.


• Order, receive and check equipment and supplies, perform inventory control, perform minor repairs of lab equipment.


• Provide lab support for classes held at 16 Tech and Glick Technology building always ensure safety.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• 2-3 years of experience in Industrial manufacturing, or equivalent training preferred.


• Previous experience working in a laboratory setting is preferred.


• Strong understanding of basic laboratory techniques and procedures.


• Excellent organizational and time management skills.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.


• Training and/or experience repairing industrial manufacturing equipment.


• Industrial robotics programing and network I/O management preferred but not required.


• *Hands-on testing will be conducted in electronics, PLCs, and robotics.
