Job summary

Fenner Precision Polymer (Fenner PRP) is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform tests and assist in material evaluation for our global manufacturing operations. You will enter data into the LIMS, maintain equipment, and support quality and process improvements across multiple product lines.

The role requires knowledge of ISO quality systems, ASTM methods, and careful record-keeping, with attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of standard lab practices and ISO Quality System requirements.
• Ability to use various measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
• Basic knowledge of polymer materials and compounds.
• Follow ASTM test methods and SOP procedures.
• Excellent record keeping and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to organize priorities and manage multiple projects.
• Good problem solving and analytical skills, mechanical aptitude.
• Good verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests and experiments per work instructions and test methodologies to support the product line.
• Test chemical and physical properties to assist departments in developing or evaluating products and materials.
• Enter data into the LIMS (Lab Information Management System).
• Assist in evaluating new and current raw materials or processes.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of lab test equipment.
• Support manufacturing operations per established work instructions (First Article Inspections, gauge setups, nonconforming material control).
• Provide training and guidance in quality principles to associates within and outside the department.
• Ensure acceptability of incoming materials, in-process and finished products by inspections and audits.
• Collect data to support analytical methods including capability studies, SPC, sampling plans and other tools.
• Interpret drawings, specs, standards and customer requirements for conformance determination.
