Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation in Savannah, GA seeks a Full-time Lab Technician with aviation manufacturing and QA testing experience.

You will perform laboratory tests, record results, maintain equipment calibration, and ensure compliance with FAA/type design data. Proficiency in blueprint reading, shop math, and data entry into Access/Solumina/Corridor is required.

Requirements include HS diploma or GED, 6 years related experience (3 in lab testing); ASQ certification is preferred upon hire.

• ASQ certificate (American Society for Quality) preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests and determines product acceptability per procedures.
• Records, organizes and evaluates test results and generates Lab reports.
• Ensures safety rules and regulations are followed during testing.
• Maintains equipment and assures calibration prior to tests.
• Maintains inventory control of area equipment.
• Assists other lab Technicians as required.
• Data entry proficient in Microsoft Access, Solumina, and Corridor.
• Ensures measurement and test equipment are calibrated to NIST standards.
• Develops procedures meeting FAA, Gulfstream, manufacturer and industry requirements.
• Works with customers to solve complex technical or logistical problems.
• Able to work with little or no supervision.

Job requires extensive knowledge and work history in aviation manuifacturing including cabinet making, cabinet finish, avionics or interior installation.

Education and Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. 6 years technically related experience to include three (3) years laboratory testing experience. Proficient in blueprint reading/interpretation, shop mathematics, and QA System requirements. ASQ certificate (American Society for Quality) Upon Hire preferred.Position Purpose:In a team oriented environment, performs all laboratory testing in a timely and efficient manner to ensure aircraft material, parts & components are compliant with type design data.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:

• Performs laboratory tests and determines product acceptability in accordance with prescribed methods and procedures.
• Records, organizes and evaluates test results and generate Lab reports.
• Ensures compliance to all safety rules and regulations and provides protection to self and others during testing.
• Maintains equipment and assures calibration prior to performance of tests. .
• Maintains inventory control of area equipment.
• Works with and assists other lab Technicians as required.
• Proficient in data input for Microsoft Access, Solumina, and Corridor.
• Ensures all measurement and test equipment utilized is accurate and calibrated to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards.
• Develops procedures ensuring FAA, Gulfstream, manufacturer and industry requirements are met.
• Works with customers to solve complex technical or logistical problems.
• Able to work with little or no supervision.

Perform other duties as assigned. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
