Job summary

Children’s Mercy is seeking applicants to support its Microbiology Research laboratory in a role that focuses on specimen management, inventory and daily lab operations for grants related to infectious diseases. The position requires a HS diploma and provides on-the-job training with opportunities to participate in quality assurance tasks and team meetings.

The role is onsite at Children’s Mercy locations in Kansas City; a seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment and immunization

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent; on-the-job training available for candidates.
• Some phlebotomy or lab experience/education is preferred but not required.
• Industry training may be provided during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Specimen management including deidentification, freezer storage and retrieval, aliquoting, labelling and shipping (~copied from ad).
• Inventory maintenance including shipment receipt and supplies in hand.
• Maintains general operations of the Laboratory and performs quality assurance activities.
• Attend weekly lab and team meetings.
