Job Description

Our Dayton, NJ laboratory is seeking an entry-level Lab Technician I to join their General Chemistry team! The Lab Technician I will prepare samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS' analytical SOPs. Work independently and as part of a team to meet daily production targets and ensure hold times and turnaround times are met. Always follow safe laboratory practices and maintain a safe working environment.

Job Functions
  1. After appropriate training, independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS’ analytical SOPs using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies.
  2. Perform routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment.
  3. Assist with validation and MDL studies, if applicable.
  4. Input and maintain technical information to support laboratory functions/operations.
  5. Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
  6. Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  7. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma (Required)
  • 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories or prior experience working with hands (Required)
  • Associates Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (Preferred)
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories (Preferred)
  • Language Skills: English (Required)
  • Mathematical Skills: Basic (Required)
  • Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Basic (Required)
  • Computer Skills: Basic (Required)
  • Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 25 lbs on a frequent basis (Required)
