Job summary

U.S.-Silica is seeking an entry-level Lab Technician to provide basic technical and clerical support to laboratory personnel at our Mill Creek plant. You will collect samples, maintain glassware, and manage supplies under direct supervision following established procedures.

You will operate equipment, perform routine inspections, and help with data recording and documentation while maintaining a clean, safe lab environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 0–2 years of laboratory, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety practices.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to accurately maintain records and documentation.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with standard office software.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic technical and clerical support to laboratory personnel.
• Collect samples from designated locations throughout the plant.
• Clean, wash, sterilize, and distribute laboratory glassware.
• Maintain laboratory supply inventory, place orders, and verify incoming shipments.
• Operate laboratory equipment according to established procedures.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Coordinate equipment repairs as needed.
• Maintain daily logs, equipment records, and other required documentation.
• Review data, identify routine issues, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
