Job summary

Actalent, Inc. seeks a Lab Technician to process SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures, and to produce antigens and reagents. The role also involves preparing buffers, media, and solutions while maintaining accurate internal documentation and performing various housekeeping tasks.

The position is fully onsite in Windham, CT, with an 8-hour shift starting at 7:30 am. Candidates should have 1–2 years of related lab experience and be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of related laboratory experience.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom and use PPE.
• Knowledge of aseptic, sterile techniques and biosafety practices.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Process SPF chicken embryos, cell cultures, and microbial cultures.
• Produce antigens and reagents.
• Prepare buffers, media, and solutions.
• Complete internal documentation.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a manufacturing setting with a start time of 7:30 am and an 8-hour shift with breaks. The job requires regular standing, handling objects, using a microscope, walking, and sitting. Employees must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. The work area can get hot at times.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Windham, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
