Responsibilities

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests involving soil, concrete, and asphalt samples.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and test samples of concrete and soils to determine their properties, including strength, durability, permeability, and other mechanical properties.
  2. Conduct tests on materials used in construction, such as aggregates, cement, and asphalt.
  3. Responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, ensuring that all testing procedures are performed accurately, and recording and analyzing data.
  4. Responsible for writing reports and communicating findings to engineers.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working outdoors.
  • Must be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites, and able to lift up to 80 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to read and write, and proficiency in using a computer.
  • Willingness to complete additional training or certification programs such as ACI, ASTM, and AASHTO’s, to specialize in concrete and soils testing.
